Travel Companion: Julie

All my favorite techniques in one place!  Well, maybe not all...but I had a great time putting together this layout using Birgit Koopsen's  collection, which is called "revolution.com."  At first I wasn't sure if it was my style because it's very graphic, but the contrast of the graphic products and my own whimsy worked out wonderfully!

I'm really pleased with how this layout turned out.  I think it has shot its way to the top of my list as one of my all time faves!  Check out the details:

The large stenciled letters were "painted" using the Copic airbrush system.  I love the way it looks like spray paint, but it was so easy to do inside my apartment!  And they dry almost instantly, so there's no waiting!  The cursive part of the title was painted using Golden fluid acrylics.  They're expensive, but oh so worth it!

That huge fabulous cloud rub-on with the raining hearts was screaming to be used.  I'm so glad that it made its way onto this page.  The hand drawn look of all the adorable cloud rub-ons goes perfectly with the airplane I stitched.  Now I had no idea how to draw an airplane when I started this layout.  However I found a great tutorial here.  And after I drew it with a pencil a few times, I was able to easily sew it with my sewing machine.

I used some vellum for the journaling, which was typed on a cursive typewriter.  I laid the vellum over a very bright orange paper to tone it down a bit. And I used washi tape to hold it all together.  And of course a sprinkling of watercolor droplets finishes everything off!

Thanks for stopping by!
